How Big is Texas? – Texas Country Reporter

For those of you who have been following me since I started this blog in June, you’ll remember my perimeter tour around the state of Texas with my friends, Morgan and Debra.

Original outline of our perimeter tour.

Before I left to pick up my passengers in Gainesville where we began the quest, I was interviewed by the great people of Texas Country Reporter. They also shot video of us along our trip and then they interviewed me at the end. We also took Flat Bob and Flat Kelli Phillips with us throughout the journey.

The show aired a couple of weeks ago across the state of Texas then on RFD-TV last weekend. It’s now available on line so I wanted to share it with you.

The video link is here. Watch as Morgan, Debra, and I share our quest around the perimeter of the Lone Star State.

Since the video aired, I’ve had a number of people message me and share their desire to drive the tour, too. I’m excited for them and hope they follow through with it since my initial reason for taking this tour was to encourage travel to the great state of Texas. Stay tuned for future trips of the interior.

This is the only life we’re blessed to have. I want to get out and explore and I want to get out and know I really lived.

Thanks for planting the seed ! We head out on soon for our trip “around” Texas.
We live in Pasadena so we will “officially” start at the San Jacinto Monument and head south to Padre Island, then to onward to Big Bend, El Paso, Texline, Dalhart, Wichita Falls, Texarkana, Orange, Crustal Beach across the ferry to Galveston and north back home to Pasadena. Thank you for a great idea ! Wish us luck ! Jack and Laura Whitman
