As an amateur photographer, I understand the phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words,” especially when it comes to sunrises and sunsets. I’m blessed to have experienced many over my years in the Texas.
While lots of folks I know like to sleep in, many of my photos show reasons why I choose to wake up early when I’m traveling or even at home. I thought I’d share some of my favorites from the seven regions of Texas.
Since my home is in the Panhandle Plains Region of Texas in San Angelo and I enjoy more sunrises and sunsets here than any other place, it seems only right for me to show you a few spectacular views I’ve seen since living here right in my own backyard.
So whether it’s early morning or late evening, wherever you are when visiting the Lone Star State, make sure to take the time to walk outside and catch the rays, whether coming or going. It’ll be worth it.
I’ve worked in the travel industry for more than 25 years and I’ve been known to wander all my life. I’ve lived in more than 20 cities and towns and had the opportunity to experience a variety of people and places, introducing me to different cultures and allowing me to make friends along the way. I also majored in English in college. I don’t claim to be an excellent writer, proofreader, or grammar queen. I’m an amateur photographer and enjoy sharing the beauty of places I visit and and where I live.

Diann – These are all fantastic! The sunset outside Del Rio might be my favorite, but it’s hard to pick just one. The sunrise at Port Aransas is breathtaking. The ones from “your backyard” are awesome! Well done!
